I don't speak to native English speakers in my daily life very often. My girlfriend doesn't speak English nor do most of my friends where I live. While I speak English everyday as an English teacher of course, I often worry that I will pick up bad habits and start using Chinglish here and there.
One of the things I do to combat this is I listen to audiobooks and especially podcasts. I commute for various part time gigs and I use that time to listen to sports talk, tech news and whatever else I find interesting.
One podcast that has recently come to my attention is
The China History Podcast by
Laszlo Montgomery. He covers some important episodes in Chinese history and speaks in a calm way while describing some really turbulent times. The weekly podcasts are usually about 30 minutes long and are a good way to start learning about Chinese history.
Sinica podcast is another excellent English language podcast about China but it looks at contemporary China. The latest episode
Morally Adrift? from June 12, 2012 is a must listen, especially for expats living in China.
I download them right to my phone but you can use
iTunes or get them from the sites themselves.
