I dunno why, but I like these kinds of posters in an aesthetic way. Not terribly dissimilar from the WW2 US posters in style and mood, although the messages here are a little more diverse because they ran in both times of war and peace.

What does the 1966 one mean by "Destroy the ox and snake spirits?"

ox and snake spirits are the devils or baddies.
So it reads... "kill all the bad guys"

Well the last time I saw a snake-headed anything I was watching Mystery Science Theater, so I guess they did a good job.

Once, in class, I wanted to emphasize a class requirement, that the student work in groups of three. So I put this in the ppt:



It is, I believe, an exhortation to physical exercise.
