I never thought in a million years that I'd be thankful for Beijing's weather.... but after spending 3 days in monsoon-y Hong Kong, I'm so glad to be enjoying the smoggy air...

Worst trip ever...

Getting hot in Xi'an.  The beauty shop has the 'majiangg tile' covers on the beds, I have my aircon on, and am now sleeping in my short and light silk jamas. Classrooms have the fans going.

I'm switching my wardrobe from winter to summer today, and will probably get out my bamboo sleeping mat this week.  It takes me a week to get used to it, but after that - heaven to sleep on.  Does anyone else use these ones or the 'majiang tile' type?

I like them until I move, then the hair on my arms and elsewhere gets caught in the mat and pulled out. The Majiang ones are the worst for this.

And this is why I'm happy I'm up north, no humidity and we're still below 20.

We are having the warmest summer in 150 years! Temperature at 23 degrees celcius and climbing. No wind, clouds all gone byebye, no sign of impending rain. Time for lots of  agagagagag in sunshine come the weekend. And Pirates of the Caribbean opens tomorrow  axaxaxaxax so it is time to fly the old  bzbzbzbzbz and sing songs about rum and dead people. Life is sweet! bfbfbfbfbf

Here it is still like living in a slow cooker with temps of 30+ for a high every day.

For what it's worth, we're having a cool start to the Summer....temps 20-24, and humidity around 70%!!!  Very unusual.  Fans work just fine.  Haven't needed (or turned on) the A/C yet!!  Weird.  Not complaining, mind you.  Just commenting.
