It seems to me the Chinese lack that gland that secrets the fluid that keeps the mouth closed preventing thinking out loud.

Oh yea. My school gave me 3 new classes that started 2 weeks ago. Now, I am a pound or two overweight (maybe 10) but to us, I'm somewhat normal. One of my new students raised her hand politely, waited for me to get to her and told me she had something to tell me.

"Teacher, you are fat."

Then she sat down.

There's a bumper sticker that says:  "I'm fat, but you're ugly and I can diet."  Cruel, and certainly one wouldn't be in 'teacher mode' if one so replied, but that bumper sticker just might be your response.  To remain in teacher mode, perhaps a short lesson on cultural differences might be in order.

Oh you can do both Ruth.

Start with the bumper sticker saying to segue into the culture class. Works well.

There are some difficulties if you are fat AND ugly.

Answer (again, not acceptable in teacher mode): "Yeah every time I shag your mum she gives me a bicuit" (Shane Warne, Aussie cricket player)
