Quiet little mouse

I have an online student, a shy, unconfident 11 year-old girl who won't speak up. Face to face, I'd get her to stand up, move around and project her voice; but my video phone screen is tiny- even my hand talking is restricted.  She is so quiet that not only can't I hear her half the time, she's not even enunciating, and when she repeats something louder I usually still can't quite make out the words, let alone get at her pronunciation.

Ideas?

Practically speaking? If you're restricted to using your phone to have class and the issue is not being able to hear her rather than finding a way to make her speak louder, buy a pair of speakers and run them through your phone.
