University Professor/Researchers' Compensation
« on: April 01, 2010, 10:00:09 PM »
Only God knows why, but I've been asked to participate in a group that is looking at my university's teacher compensation levels in order to assess our competiveness.  They don't necessarily want to hire professors but competant people who are solid teachers, (in a Western style), and capable of doing rigorous research.

Anyone on the forum involved closely in their university's Human Resources Department, have input on this subject or can recommend someone who may be willig to give me advice or sources for my own investigation?

Thanks in advance.  I know this is general, but that's what I'm tasked with.

Those doing research are typically professors at a Uni. "Teachers" would normally be "adjuncts", usualy part-timers. I doubt any University is going to pay salaries over $50k USD to have research level (Post-grad/PH.D.) who want to be serious teachers here.
I am a member of several Higher ed. forums, a couple of interest may include:

Although these 2 are primarily about Distance Ed. (my area of interest)

We have several PhD teachers at my University and a couple writing their dissertations so they can complete their PhD's.  They are mostly FT's
