Many, many have said I'm a pretty face
But we're going off topic...have to get it back to Chinese names...umm, er, um.
I know one teacher who got given his name on the basis of it being something simple to write...Big Mountain

I didn't translate my name. Actually there is a version of writing my name in Chinese. But I have a Chinese CHINESE name: Yu4 Lan2 - which is a special flower and another meaning is Jade Orchid. And also Yu4 means a female virtue. Writing it in Chinese is also very simple (Lan2 is same as 'blue)'

"Con" is really hard for Sinos to pronounce- it comes out as a homophone for "corn". I finally chose Kong4 Fu1 Bai2, but it's a mouthful, so I go by Fubai, or in Beijing/Dongbei talk, Fubar.

Speaking of Beijing-hua, my student was trying to say "fat" and ended up saying "fart"
Didn't take me long to explain her what it meant.
