Gough Whitlam, Rest in Peace
« on: October 21, 2014, 04:16:58 PM »
Gough passed away this morning. I'm really saddened by his death.

I think we all personalise the deaths of people that we admired and loved from a distance, thinking about how different our lives would have been without their influence. I for one know that his policies on health and education had profound effects on my own life...would I still be alive? and if so would I still be sewing air force uniforms in Mr. Klein's sweatshop?

Thank you Gough for the gift of free medical treatment when needed and thank you for my free university education. God bless you.

I never really liked Gough Whitlam but he really made changes to our country. Health care, education (I managed to get a couple of free degrees) he fought for equal wages for women and quite a few other social  issues which meant a lot in the 70's.

A grand old age of 98 years when he died today - and some grand legacies left. Even that crazy TV commercial..... was it pasta??
I've fallen in love with the world.....

Who are Gough Whitlam and Mr. Klein?

Australia's a large southern land mass. Gough Whitlam was one of its foremost leaders.

Calvin Klein is some made up wanker who exploits Asian female workers.

WTF DO you know??
