Last week I interviewed for a Copywriterbjob and today I got a call offering me the position.

It begins in 3 weejs which is pretty sudden.

My concern is that i hqve to find somewhere to live etc and hear rent is pretty high.

Also I'm honna miss Nanchang. I love this city.

p.s i'm aware of the irony of starting a copywriting job with this many typos, but these little touchscreens kill me!

Shanghai rocks (but it is pretty 'spensive) ... maybe MK or some of the others can point you in the right direction vis-a-vis housing etc

3 weeks to move and find a place in shanghai? you might find that just a bit tough!
Start combing the classified on expat websites for potential subleases or even short term roommate situation while you get acclimated.

Where do you want to live? If you are prepared to live in an older, shabbier building, Shanghai doesn't have to be that expensive, even in the center.

There are loads of little estate agents dotted around, and in many places they'll have at least one English speaking member of staff. Tell them your limit and that your not a 'rich foreigner'.

2 or 3 free days to spend apartment hunting while you stay in a hotel should be sufficient unless you are mega-fussy.

I can PM you details of my estate agent if needed.

cheers guys. things went tits up cause apparenyl6 spplying for the work visa from a residency permit is difficults, so now its looking like i will be moving end of the month and may even have found someone to apartment share with

-UPDATE- the company just called me and told me the work visa will be ready on monday after all and that I start work on the 18th. brown trouser time!

luckily I have someone I can stay with until I find a place so time for me to start packing!
