... I don't understand Chinese males' need to pull their T-shirt up to their armpits and walk/sit around. I tried it and it's uncomfortable. If they're hot, why not just take the friggin' thing off? (If you go to Korea don't try this - it's guaranteed to get 'Mr. Kim' upset). th_ah
My guess is that it's culturally more acceptable to pull it up than to take it off. I know that there are a ton of guy who are walking around with their bare upper bodies but maybe that's seen as a working class / redneck thing or something? I really don't know, gotta ask a Chinese person.
What I do know that where I live, it's not really acceptable for women to wear string tops/ show your shoulders. So they have all those mini token cardigans that are semi-transparent and basically do nothing else than cover your shoulders. Even I bought one or two of these so that I could wear my string tops to school.
