Heads up USA passport holders

I'm having to make an unexpected trip to the consulate in Guangzhou on Monday to get pages added to my passport. I knew it was getting full, but there are three totally blank pages at the end.
A student intern called me last week. The police won't/can't put a new visa in my passport until I get new pages. "Hui shenme?" "We don't know."
My husband figured it out. The last three pages are missing the magic little word "visa" that is at the top of all the other pages in the book. If I'd noticed that before I would have had the Hong Kong guys stamp one of the last three pages instead of the 4th last page. Now my old visa has expired and I'm living on the edge.
Just a heads up for you frequent travelers out there.
Any other country's passports like this?

I see, they are labeled as for endorsements. I wonder what that really means?

I had to get more pages last year too. That combination of full-page visas and one, single entry stamp on the opposite page tears through the pages pretty quickly unfortunately

$82 US dollars later and I've got 48 new pages. It costs the same whether you get one set or two sets added. I went for the 2-for-1 deal since I was there and still have 6 years left before my passport expires. But they took up 2 of my new pages with a stamped message that says these pages were added and a full page sticky that says virtually the same thing.

They used to be free as well. Endorsements. I've got a couple of stamps, from immigration here in Korea as well as banks in Korea. Whether that's legal for banks to do it, I highly doubt it, but that sure doesn't stop them!

Someone should inform the UK embassy of this really cool invention called a stapler.

Canada is the same. You need a new passport but you can choose one with more pages when you do if you think you will fill the smaller one before the 5 years is up.

Yeah, I think if you travel a lot you can pay more for a passport with more pages. Also, the UK passports are 10 years, not 5.
