What can't you do here in China that you used to do at home?
Reason i,m asking this is that on the weekend i was out with some wai guo peng you and this topic came up.
For me it's riding my Motorbikes and working on my farm. Nothing i used to like more than after a weeks work was to climb on board my Ducati and go for a blast thru the mountains or along the Great Ocean road home in OZ.(an e-bike or little 125cc just aint the same)
Just staying at home and working on my farm was another way to just chill out after another week of office bull th_bq!
Most other things i used to enjoy doing at home are available here but these 2 things stand out for me.
F**K I miss my bike  th_an

As much as I love this little hive of activity that my village is, I must admit that I occasionally do miss living way the heck outside of town and having no neighbors.

I used to have a big sturdy road bike (bicycle). On free days I would cycle out of town and tour the backroads and villages of southern Ontario. I would take my camera, a couple of litres of water, and all day. Sometimes I would visit my brother at his farm and overnight at his place. Hard to do that in Dalian.

I used to play chess. I wasn't that good, but I was competitive and could take the fight to experts and even masters. I used to play on Friday evenings, and sometimes we would go out for a beer or 3 at an Irish pub after. can still get the same beer with friends thing here, but can't get the same intense chess.

I was going to say that too. I miss living in a proper house with a yard,  not having the sound of busses and traffic start up at 5am, not living on the 11th floor with and needing to rely on a 10 year old dodgy as hell elevator, just basically not living in the middle of a huge friggin city.

This is no problem here. Having trouble finding people to pass it to?

Notice I said the word 'fine'. I have sampled from a few different sources here and it is all that crappy by-product powder stuff. Gives a little buzz but that's it.

A far cry from the hydroponic delights of Europe...

You need to find better suppliers Arnold, or take a trip out west.

Yunnan is very beautiful this time of year.

Hello forum, and hello first post.

I miss riding my Suzuki SV1000, even on the long, flat, straight roads of Indiana.

There's extensive discussion in at least one other thread of the loveliness and desirability of Chinese women. I contributed to one such thread and agree wholeheartedly with nearly everything others said.

However, just as enjoying Chinese food does not prevent me from missing some Western dishes, the Chinese lasses don't stop me from wanting to admire some Western women, the more un-Chinese looking, the better. I definitely miss tall leggy blondes, busty freckled redheads, ....
