I am out of here but finding a new job is not easy when you are over 60. I have the experience (29yrs in NZ and over 10 in China) and desire to keep teaching in China.
My ideal place would be: - in South China - a university/college/trade school/middle school but I would consider other places
If you know of a place that has a vacancy I would welcome any PM or email that offers a lead.

You could try these people, they just sent me a request, but its not where I'm moving to. Your credentials will impress them. Her name is Shirley and her office number is: edited out.
Edit: In general it is not a good idea to post direct contact info for schools on the boards here. If you want to share job leads, do it through PM please, or use the job board. --- TLD

I think it's generally a good idea to send personal info in Private Messages.
Just advice, heed it if you will.

Not your ideal, xwarrior, but have you considered doing only private teaching? A friend of mine in SZ is making a lot of money. No work permit, but none of the work is in schools. It's all on company premises. No tax either. He does business English for 300 an hour. It entails a lot of commuting, but that's fairly easy there. 100 hours a month results in a lot of cash.
Alternatives: privates at home in your apartment; Buckland in Yangshuo if you don't look too decrepit (they are hiring now for south China schools); eChinacities website.
There are a lot of schools looking for teachers right now. Don't worry about the age thing.

TLD, I 'll agree that this sort of material should go by private message. I am, however, intriqued by DD's comment You could try these people, they just sent me a request, but its not where I'm moving to. Your credentials will impress them. Her name is Shirley and her office I'm wondering if these are the people i know. DD, can you forward this to me too? Not that i want to elbow my way in on XW, but if who I think it is, some communication would be in order.

Don't sweat it DD, assuming the contact is Chinese, then her phone number probably isn't considered private information. I've not met many Chinese people that consider phone numbers private, at least not without threatening them.
And quit calling me Shirley.

Standard policy at the Saloon is that direct contact info for jobs isn't ever publicly posted unless screened and approved by one of the admins - Raoul, Noles or Con. It doesn't matter if the phone number (or email address) is considered public or private. Trust me, there are very good reasons for this. "Reliable" and "trustworthy" job contacts have turned evil on more than one occasion.

DD, to be fair, porcus posted his comment before I made the edit. He probably didn't even know about the Saloon policy and was just trying to be helpful. Let's try to give people the benefit of the doubt unless they're being outright nasty, ok?

What Br'er 'Nolefan, TLD, and EL said. It has always been our policy to disallow direct posting of job listings or contact info to schools or other potential employers. We rigorously enforce this policy. We will post job listings, in fact we LOVE to post job listings, but only after the employer has been properly researched and vetted. We don't want bad employers listed here if we can help it; I feel strongly that the reputation of The Saloon is at stake in this. Note that posting in the Jobs board can only be done by an Admin. I generally handle all this myself, so if you want to post job info please PM or e-mail it to me. If I had my druthers, I'druther you wouldn't exchange unapproved job contacts by PM here, either. But your private messages are just that- private- so if you simply must provide such info, it's your choice.

I'm not losing any sleep over this. I accept that it comes with the territory. I also accept that there's nothing I can do about without getting all Dave about it and shutting down the PM feature. I'd just hate to get someone- not necessarily a member- accidentally steered into a bad school through The Saloon. Just a small worry I always have.
