Went to class only to find I had 9 days off. They always forget to tell me. After the 9 days were up I returned to find I only need to teach 3 lessons a week till the end of term.

I'm all for any system that inflicts great pain on students while paying teachers to go to the bar hiking.

To be truthful, I'm not entirely heartless about these things.  I taught a high school student 3 years ago when he was 18/19.  He's now 21/22 and still at (another) high school while he struggles to pass.  It's a great shame.  His spoken English is superb - but that isn't reflected in Chinese exam results.
