I wanted to expand on my reply to Foscolo so I thought a new topic might be better.

I agree 100%, Linux is simpler than Windows and far more intuitive. And much, much better in lots of ways. When I say it isn't as user-friendly, I'm thinking of what you have to do when problems occur.

Examples: when I first used Linux, I couldn't use my wireless connection, MSN, QQ, my DVD drive, my Chinese input software, my pinyin tones input software, Rosetta Stone, my keyboard volume control, my keyboard printscreen button, and half a dozen other things which I forget now. Oh yes, and I couldn't boot into XP either!

Eventually I got most of that lot working just fine, but to do this I needed internet access on another computer and lots of help.  Some people find that everything works out of the box - not my experience though.

I still have a few issues with Open Office, such as dates in spreadsheets (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4rd, 5rd....   ha ha!)
