Brett who?

How many times does one get to play Hamlet before we realize he's really Shylock?  Yes, an awesome career.  And just as awesome a douche bag.  Will be interesting when they put his name on the Ring Of Fame at Lambeau.  Part of his playing legacy has to be his many chokes in the clutch.  I can tick off three or four without thinking about it.

Forget that anyway.  Great game.  Only fitting that the Packers had so many key injuries that almost gave The Stillers the game.  Defense came up big when they needed it and so did Rodgers.  Could be a few Super Bowls in his immediate future.  God willing and the creek don't rise.

Right. It's not like one ever sees "awesome douche bags" in professional sports. th_ah
I think someday, even Green Bay will forgive Favre and that day in Lambeau will come.
Might take them a while, though...they're still pretty pissed. th_as

Anyways, yeah, quite a good game. Not quite the fast-action duel I was hoping for, but still a great game. It wasn't decided for sure until the final seconds. th_ag  It was interesting to watch the momentum shift back and forth...but ultimately, it was the three turnovers and Rodgers' incredible throwing arm that decided it.

And so sorry, DS. th_an
Fox had the rights to the game, so no way ESPN (owned by ABC) would ever get to show it. th_bi

I had good luck with peer-to-peer, free broacasts on the internet.

The media made Favre's retirement-unretirements a big deal. Hearing about it every day wasn't Favre, it was media. Favre was selfish and full of himself but he's hardly the only selfish superstar athlete. Not coddling Rogers in Green Bay, the guy taking your job? Well, so what? Check how Montana and Young got along in San Fan (hint: not well)

Sexting? Come on.

That guy played over 300 games straight at QB. One tough mutha and it wasn't the 'get rid of the ball quick' kind of quarterbacking. He would get drilled. How the fuck do you throw a football with a broken thumb on your throwing hand.

In the game that broke his streak, his replacement got hurt and didn't finish the game. Tavaris' streak didn't even reach one!  th_bi

The Green Bay fans will mellow out and remember him well as one of, if not the toughest S.O.B. to ever play football.

Starr, Favre and now Rogers. No franchise can match that.

I couldn't find a way to watch this game! Seeing as I hail from Wisconsin, everyone from home keeps going on and on about how awesome this game was, Aaron Rodgers is god, ect. They didn't start playing well until right after I left the US- do any of you know a way/websites to watch the superbowl now? Even though it is said and done and I know the outcome, I would still like to watch it if it is at all possible....

Danny White? Really? Well, perhaps my dislike of 'Americas Team' colours my view. Maybe Romo will put them over.  th_ah

Romo

Touche.  I'd add Don Meredith, but I don't think he ever managed a ring.

Is it possible to watch games live at some ... need I say bar?

I'd hate to miss State of Origin QLD v NSW (Australia...). Didn't realise there'd be a way to watch it over there, or cricket for that matter!

Yes, you can watch games live but only in the cities with a large enough ex-pat community to support them. Actually if you are not in one of these cities, you might have a hard time finding a bar that is not a disco type place.

And mkate there are other threads for Aussie sport, this one is for American football.

What Stil said is, for him, uncharacteristically useful and interesting and correct. th_m
For example, Suzhou, with lots of foreigners with little sense and too much money, has places that will show The Super Bowl, The World Series, etc. live.

One factor that Stil forgot, though, is the time difference. Expect that expat-bar Super Bowl Party, for example, to START at 4 or 5am China Time... th_bi

May be, but we are talking about the broadcast of MAJOR INTERNATIONAL sporting events here.
And the time difference between Australia and major international sporting events is pretty similar to that of China. th_u

Anyway, it's heartening to see your grammar improving. th_ah
