I felt the same way. Don't let it drive you crazy. How long has it been?

It has been about three weeks now.  I have a flight booked for Aug. 24 which is not looking good right now.  The school has to get the invitation letter from the gov't and airmail it to me which will take about a week.  Then, I have to turn it around and send to the Consulate in America with a Fedex rush order.  Fastest is maybe 3 days!  Can the school do anything to push the gov't to go faster?

I had to pay the penalty to re-book the flight.  I have received my docs from China now and I have received my Z visa.  I am leaving on Aug. 31 now.  Finally!  It has been a long wait! Going to teach in Xiamen.

Congratulations on getting a job and the Z visa.  Too bad about having to rebook your flight.  Safe travels.  Keep us posted on how things go and especially on your first impressions of China.

Oh, I have been to China before.  I taught near Shanghai for almost two years.  I did not like the cold winters there.  Most Schools are not heated.  I am looking forward to palm trees, beaches and mountains.  Xiamen seems like a great city!
