Dear, in future please put these in the "Requests for City Info" thread already running. Threads and posts in the Library should be articles and answers, not questions.
But you're very new and very cute, so it's cool. th_af

Kunshan is a nice enough place. It's right between Shanghai and Suzhou, and literally minutes away from either by train. th_bf

It's rather small compared to Suzhou, and is officially part of "Suzhou City" under the weird Chinese definition of "city". It's very dominated by factories, but does have an "Old Town" that reflects the grace that characterizes architecture in the region.

There are lots of foreigners there, so there are some amenities for them...but it doesn't really matter, because a short trip to Shanghai or Suzhou will let you find anything you'd ever need. Kunshan's foreign community is heavily dominated by Taiwanese, who have a very large presence there.

Kunshan is OK. Unfortunately it lacks Suzhou-proper's controls on factory type and location, so the industry is a bit dirtier and a bit more up-close-and-personal. Personally I'd rather be in either Shanghai or Suzhou, but Kunshan is pretty good. th_bf
