Im also wondering if anyone has worked here or has anything to say about it. The ads they put out on davesesl look better than most.

Furthermore, our contract includes:

1. A MINIMUM salary of RMB9,000 per month for 25 teaching hours a week (no Office Hours necessary)
2. Overtime teaching at the rate of RMB120 per hour
3. A contract-completion bonus of RMB5,000
4. Free fully-furnished accommodation
5. Airport pick-up
6. A working visa
7. Paid training prior to commencing teaching

I wonder what they mean by "a working visa", and how they can give one to someone with no college degree. Bets that it's not a legal Residence Permit?

Pardon us if we seem negative on this school, Kokokolo, but when a school treats a teacher as shabbily as this one did we tend to feel they'll treat ANY teacher that way. th_ay

@Raoul: From people who have worked at DD's and were friends of mine, they told me that DD straightup forged a college degree from a university in Canada or US. Did the same for the TEFL. What do you expect - TIFC.

As for the training, I heard that its not that great. Kind of shoddily put together and I think its like a DD Dragon Certificate. Who knows if employers in other places would give two squats if you have it or not.

NATO said it already, but this thread is amazing. Is it an elaborate joke?

OK, we don't know exactly what happened how or why but some guy dies while in employment at the school in question in seemingly unexplained circumstances and then the school apparently act like shits about the whole repatriation of the body thing. 

Nevertheless, there is (should I use is or are here?) not one, but two posts in quick succession enquiring about employment at the same chain,  and NOT EVEN MENTIONING THE DEAD GUY.

WTF guys?!?!?!  I have heard China compared to the 'Wild West' but c'mon!

Only 4-5 hours on a Saturday and Sunday? That's very low for a training center. I'm working at my second language center and each one worked me 8-12 hrs each of those two days.

Wow!  They even provide you with set of illegal credentials that could leave you...

a.  deported
b.  jailed
c.  fined
d.  deeply worried about what your fellow inmates plan to do to you when the guards aren't looking
e.  deeply worried about what the guards plan to do to you when your fellow inmates aren't looking
f.  deeply worried about that either of these groups plan to do to you when the other is looking

Don't worry.  They only brag about the No Degree Required in English language postings.  No one with the Immigration Bureau will ever read it.  Naturally, all language mills conform to a universal code of never ever reporting the illegal activities of their competitors in hopes of stealing clients as the owners and teachers are dragged away in chains.

If none of this bothers you, and assuming no one in your homeland wants your rotting corpse back in case of an unfortunately fatal incident that's not too carefully checked out, the working hours don't sound too terrible.  th_bi


Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Can anyone explain how the Business visa is legit? I am going china in 2 weeks, I've been told its become more common for jobs in china to employ you on a business class visa, as a teaching consultant.  th_ag

Mainly for jobs that can't legally employ you.... because they don't qualify for the legal visa.... It is not "more common"... If it is a normal teaching job then you take it at your own risk.
