OK so I am petrified of snakes anyways..... and a little brown darling just bit me on shoe...lucky for steel capped boots! I hope it broke its tooth!  Now I'm all jittery stoopid animal, I wasn't even walking where I shouldn't was just on the cement outside the office picking up a bag and felt a tap on my shoe (it was only a baby snake)  th_ao

I'd be none too pleased to have that happen...especially since the snakes around here are poisonous. Fortunately I haven't seen any on campus, even with the 小心有蛇 sign on the path to the gate.

Don't worry in China they've eaten them all already. And if there are still some, they flee at the sight of humans  th_bf

So I take it you won't be drinking any of the snake wine??  (Whole snake in a bottle of alcohol on the shelves in the restaurants).

Hugs for your scare! grouphug

I live on a semi-rural campus and a couple of years back we were all warned that (gasp!) snakes had been spotted on campus, but not to worry, the gardeners and security guards were doing their best to eradicate this menace Sad

I like snakes (also, they eat rodents)

I'm happy if the snake is cruising AWAY from me, I will swerve to avoid hitting snakes, but when they come after me ...causing me to dance a bit like George's Chicken out the front of work,I draw the line.

EWWWW no snake wine for me thanks

I think this is the fourth baby snake I've come accross this summer, but the first at work, they are usually at home and when I open my sliding door, I'm not sure who gets more of a fright.

As for the Mummy and Daddy snakes, so far so lucky havn't come accross any at work but I'm sure my day of reckoning is just around the corner, then you'll probably hear me scream in China, (Snakes are the only things that make me scream like a girl)

Ay, jeez...
A number of snakes in China are indeed poisonous, even the baby ones...especially as you get to the southern part of the country. Take them serious, please, and be careful... th_ao

Boss, that would be why I am heading North...where the little (and no so little) snakes will be frozen solid for most of the year ... th_bh

It's not the size of the snake, it's the venom.  The nasty little monster that tagged me a few years ago was only about 12-14 inches long, but I still got to spend some quality time in the hospital.

Somehow, "quality time in the hospital."...and "snakebite" don't quite exactly fit together!
