Welcome to Schnerby's world
« on: January 31, 2009, 03:21:39 AM »
Since I’m packing up and getting ready to set foot back in China, I thought I would share a bit of my life back in Australia. These aren’t the best of pics, but they do show something of me and my life.
I have downsized them, so I hope they load ok. Sorry for the pic obesity of this post, but it is a gallery…

First, here are some snaps of my local area.

This is the view over my back fence.

This is the pier…

And this is what we do with it in winter. Plenty of people jump off it in summer, but very few in winter. It certainly clears the sinus. That’s me in the right of pic. Not the most flattering pics ever, but since it’s the portrait gallery I figured I better squeeze one in.

The time I was attacked by a shark
(look at the position of the fins before you get all up in arms)

The Aussie idea of road rules

Some of my art
Bronze

Resin/concrete

Polystyrene/plaster/wax installed at a beach

Calico

Foreground: plaster
Background: bronze
Of course, there was more work in making the plinths than the actual sculpture.

Finally, a painting for my parents. It was a request, and totally outside what I normally do.

If it's a bit pic heavy I can downsize some to clickable thumbnails.

George - you KNOW Aussies are multi-talented!!  Who's a mug maker now??

The sculptures are fascinating. Love the beach installation.

But you'll get a rich new world of green and brown water tones. ahahahahah

Nice work all around, Schnerby. The rose painting is incredible.

Schnerbs, I don't think you told us what your local area is. Mornington Peninsula??
The little calico bag? I presume that that's part of your show? Tossed in a corner, not to be mentioned?
BTW, Chinese road rules are very similar to your Australian sign, especially when it comes to pedestrians. agagagagag

George, LE is right. Surely you know how talented us Aussies are  ahahahahah I'm on the other side of the bay from the Mornington, but still in Melbourne.

Yep, the calico bag was part of my last show. It's not the kind of art for everyone, but it sure works well as therapy!  bfbfbfbfbf
