My Dads coming to china next month. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY

In the time he'll be here i'll have 9 days in a row off. I wanna take him to Beijing, Xi'an and a few places around here. Any other recommendations?? This is his first time out of Australia, he is an Artist and wants to see some of life here. I know Beijing and Xi'an are "touristy" but i guess you cant come here without seeing that stuff.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, this is the first time any of my family have come to see me so i'm REALLY, REALLY, REALLY excited.

He doesn't drink beer.

Definitely put Guilin/Yangshuo on the itenerary. Some of the world's most amazing scenery! th_bf

Some of the mountain areas of Yunnan, like around Dajiang and many others, are pretty spectacular too.

OK he has told me he doesn't want me to hold his hand the entire time that he is here, so i may just send him off to these places. I'd kill to go to Xinjian, the food rocks, but i dont think that i will have time this trip. Will def try to look into it though. Anything in the Wuxi Suzhou areas???

What sort of artist?  If your dad comes to Xi'an on a weekend when I am free I can take him to meet a 'nong min hua' (peasant farmer painter), plus a traditional scroll painter - who also does other things - and a modern artist.  What would he like to see?

Taizhou is famous for it's strange creature called the Ba_Ba_La. This creature seems to be more a night dweller, you will often see it sitting in one of the local pubs imbibing wine or beer. The Ba_Ba_La should not be feared. It is a social creature that craves conversation. This a rare creature and frankly a one in a lifetime chance to see.

It rates just above tree slugs and tends to mate with unsuitable Filipino men.
