Word Games - Wheel of Fortune phrases
«

I have always had great luck with students enjoying playing Wheel of Fortune. I plan to play it at my Christmas party for students tomorrow. Students are all in various stages of IELTS program.
I have always used American idioms, adages, or colloquialisms for the puzzles. Anyone have better ideas or should I use (possibly badly) translated Chinese idioms?
Very open for ideas here. No educational value needed, just fun for the money. Full sentences best.
Thanks.

These are from Adeline Yen Mah's book A thousand pieces of gold.

The students had a great time, really enjoyed the games, especially LE's phrases. A big hit. Overall, since I am in the middle of a pissing match, I had to fix all food, prep all games, set up, take down, etc; it was too much work. Would do it again with help, alone, never, never, never

"Next" time, you won't have that competition problem, and can maybe even rope in some of the students to give you a hand...Yes?

Yeah, Bunny, this was supposed to be my going away party, but I didn't go away. Fingers crossed, I will leave in Feb for the Uni job, just waiting for the Uni wheels to turn. I MIGHT consider another party before I go. Hard part is that my students are pretty smart high school students who have classes 12 hours a day 6 days a week, so finding time to come to a party is tough, never mind getting them to help. And if I involve the Chinese staff, then I lose all control and it becomes a Chinese party. We'll see.
