Friday night was fantastic. Seriously, the people on this forum are even more awesome in person than they appear to be online. Finally got to meet the lovely Varya, although we sat too far away from one another so another date is in the plans for us!! Smiley Pete, Peter, Paul + co, James... it was great to party with you for the first (and hopefully not the last) time!

The Pass-by Bar/Cafe was very nice, I thought that it was a really cool way to start off the night. The Yang Rou chuan'r pizza was amazing. Pool bar was great; I agree with Nolefan - unpretentious, cozy, reasonably priced. A shame that we didn't get to hear the Subs play, but the night turned out fantastic nonetheless. Good times followed at Rickshaw and Nanjie Smiley one of the most fun and relaxed nights in Beijing for me!

Hey, it was great to meet you too Anya...but if we were so much fun why didn't you come out Saturday? th_as I heard somebody had such a good time she missed her train! th_p Fortunately, Cathy and Annette still had their party slippers on. I'm still recovering.  th_ag

While I hated to see Cheeky leave early, it is a good thing she was the only one with a camera. Her pictures paint a deceptively refined picture of the evening. A few hours later everyone looked like Keith Richards! th_ah

Well.

Are y'all keeping in and around Beijing for May holiday?  It's high time we got the SZ and BJ gangs together.

As far as I know, the proposed changes to the current holiday system are still being discussed and haven't taken effect yet. Regardless...I'll be at Midi come hell or high water. Come one come all... th_j
