"Hey man" and "hey boy" exist as greetings in China. Is there a "Hey girl"?

teachers, you should get on that right away.

WTH does this come from? My elder daughter (6) keeps saying it to me and I have to remind her to call me "dad", not "boy"...

Chinese boys or men yell "Haloooooooo!" after they pass. Chinese girls say, "Hey, man," as they approach. Both are clear indications of their highest level of English speaking ability and the second type is charming.

Yes, time is long past due to start hearing:

"How's it hangin'?"
"What's the rumpus?"
and "What up, playa?"

And of course, "Hey girl."

Thing about "Hey girl" is the internet is full of ready-made teaching materials. It should be happening already.

One of my fond memories from my early days in China was my first non-hello greeting.  She said "Hi there!"
