Some photos from my time in Harbin.
One of the entrances to the Snow Sculpture Exposition on Sun Island Park. Thanks to Lonely Planet I believed that Ice and Snow World was also on Sun Island Park, it isn't. Long story short, instead of going into the Snow Sculpture Exposition I wandered around Sun Island Park, never found Ice and Snow World (on this day), and the Snow Sculpture Exposition closed.
Finally made it to Ice and Snow World. I call this The Blue One.
Central area of Ice and Snow World.
Snow Tigers
In which I inadvertently rip off a photographer featured in the Boston Globe's Big Picture blog.
http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/01/harbin_ice_and_snow_sculpture.html My apologies to Aly Song and Reuters. The two photos would make a great find the differences game. You could pretend you're at a bar feeding quarters to the machine.
I never climbed any of the sculptures. I was having a hard enough time staying upright on the icy ground.
The vendors are selling some sort of candied fruit on a stick thing. Does anyone know what they're called?
