been asked to go to interview, full time is 80x50min lessons a month, 25 office hours, plus the demo lessons. pay seems ok, 9000/15000 plus accomm, health etc.
the search showed nothing on them, anyone heard anything, im looking for tianjin but they have schools in other areas. they seem legit (!).
one complicating factor, tho they can do the work permit, they said it will involve the visa run to honk kong. as i just got my family RP i was hoping it could just get transferred 'in house'. would you do the run without question or forget the job because of it? i dont want to give up my family RP for anything but the perfect (or closest approximation) job.
im not desperate for work.
As a chain they're fairly infamous. ESLteachersboard have plenty of threads about them. Here's one
http://www.eslteachersboard.com/cgi-bin/forum/index.pl?read=55606There's even a reply in there 9apparantly) from Hampson English itself, responding to the criticism in a slightly confusing but seemingly frank and honest manner. Believe me, not all school have responded to criticism (or losing face) in such an adult manner.
Hampson has clearly expanded fairly rapidly. I think that one should consider negative reviews about them, but probably also consider what things are like now, and assess each centre separately.
However, Hampson as a 'perfect' job. I hope that you take some convincing.
Anyway, I'm not sure anyone can change your family RP on the mainland. I'm not even sure if the July 1st regulations have had an effect on HK runs. If you have to go to HK, get your medical report done beforehand and take it with you, regardless of the fact that it doesn't (last I checked) mention that on any websites.
