What's this board about?

Here are some job ads from around the internet...job ads with problems. We'll post the entire ad, names changed to protect the guilty and contact info removed.

Then we'll take a look at WHY each ad is dodgy...
Hopefully this will help newcomers sort through all those millions of job ads, and get to the ones with the best chance of providing a good experience. Or, at least, a lower chance of a bad experience....

What makes an ad dodgy? Could be several reasons...

1) The school/job may or may not be OK, but the ad is badly written. This can include ads that omit certain information newcomers typically don't know they need.

2) The ad emphasizes points that may be true...but are also taking advantage of what they hope is your ignorance.

3) The ad specifies terms that are unconscionable- allowances that won't allow anything, ridiculous hours, intrusive limitation of your personal freedom/privacy, etc. Some of these ads may be using weasel language to make a bad deal sound good...

4) The ad makes promises that are unlikely be kept.

5) Other reasons. TIFC (This Is F*cking China) and anything is possible.

If you have a dodgy job ad, especially one that illustrates a yet-uncovered point, we'd love to see it.
PLEASE DON'T POST ADS HERE DIRECTLY- PLEASE PM OR E-MAIL THEM TO RAOUL!

Finally, please note that this is very much an on-topic area. Threads that stray off-topic are subject to being locked.
