I use Google's Picassa, user friendly, easy to upload ... but then again I haven't checked out any others.

I downloaded that picasa thing and found it an utter nightmare.   bibibibibi

Made this topic sticky for future reference!

Note that all the images I put on this forum (smileys, photos, etc.) use Photobucket. Slow sometimes, but good and easy to use!

I use imageshack.  Has its disadvantages, like the fact that you don't have a log in name (so if you clear your cookies you have to go back to the original validation email), but it's fast and never goes down.

Photobucket has a lot of accessibility problems in China; some people's accounts are visible and others aren't, for some unknown reason.

I really love Flicker.

I was blocked out of picasa for while as a mac user but they're coming around with mac clients for compatibility so I might give it a chance. But flicker rocks... that's what I use for my blog even though I could put the pictures on my server.

I have used both PhotoBucket and PictureTrail for my photos here and elsewhere ...

I have looked at Flickr and think it would do just fine as well.  I will check out the others just for my own interest.

I've been using photobucket and so far (touch wood) no problems. And I find it really easy to use. I'm a little techo challenged so being user-friendly is high on my list of priorities.

I had a bit of a bash at Picture trail this morning...it's a tad more tricky than Photobucket, but I will persevere for a while.

Got used to using PictureTrail. I can't get into GreatestJournal. It's been seemingly blocked, so I have started again.....familiar story??

I only use it for animated gifs, but http://inselpix.com/ is totally free. It's also anonymous, so you just upload and go, but you better copy the links down before you move out of the window for a picture you uploaded! Otherwise you have to do it again. bibibibibi I only use it for larger (file size) images that imageshack won't handle.

When I first started blogging with public free blogging services (LiveJournal at the time I think) I always used PhotoBucket and was reasonably happy with it but often hit their bandwidth/storage limits and had to open multiple accounts. That was 4 years ago though, and I'm betting they've improved quite a lot since then.

Now, generally I just run everything off my own servers, but when I don't I tend to go with Flickr and Picasa Web. I like Flickr's communal feel and if I'm looking to get opinions on photos and such, I put them there. But where it fails is that in it's free version you can't create unlimited albums and you can only display the newest 200 images. That kinda sucks.

Picasa, best I know, is a lot less limited in this regard, but does have some storage restrictions. Its integration with the Picasa software though is ace. Even not using the software it's quite easy to use, and should they ever build up the social side of the site, and continue to allow unlimited albums, it is well positioned to replace Flickr.

I've been using IMAGEBAM a few months & it works great for loading full sized pics exactly how you loaded them. It is free & easy & seems no limit on amount of pics.

It makes a new folder everytime you load pics so easy to keep sets orginized.
It has a simple copy code for adding clickable thumbs online, but doesn't seem to allow posting the full size pic on a forum, only the clickable thumbs you see below...

It auto resizes pics to 900 wide but no change in quality & the 900 wide pic enlarges to full size with a click.

WARNING!
Be sure to click "family safe" when you load or it may decide your pics are adult in nature & then anyone looking at your album/photos will have adult advertisings.

Click Family Safe & no ads of any sort.

Here are a couple pics I took in HK, you can find the homepage link top left if you open the photos.

Like Nolefan, I use flickr since arriving to China five fast years ago. I have to pay (when you pass a certain account limit) but seems always reliable, and damn easy.

Main problem is that you can't re-order the photos... whatever is uploaded is hence 'first' in the long stream of photo pages. That could be better.
