I like both games but like most American sports it annoys me with all of the stopping.

I also think it's funny how a lot of Americans think that their version of football is more 'manly' than international football even though the players wear armour and there are fouls for pretty much everything

Tha's a bit like claiming that ballet dancers are more manly than Navy Seals. What do you think happens when Rugby and Football teams play a quick game (of either sport) against each other?

At least in American football getting knocked on your a$$ is part of the game.  When American football players get knocked on their keister they just get back up and get back to business, wheras most of the "international football" players I see should be nominated for an Oscar for the acts they put on... whining to the referee for a red card or "writhing" on the ground in "pain" from a simple trip" when they get so much as touched by an opposing player.

That is something I dislike as well. The England team used to be well respected when I was a kid because they never faked injuries or fell on the ground but the game has changed a lot. FIFA is always tweaking the rules to make the game more attacking, which is a good idea imo, but for some reason they have never cracked down on play-acting.

My guess is that it's because the attackers tend to be the most famous players so referees are scared to send them off. C.Ronaldo is one of the most famous sportsmen in the world but he should technically be sent off in seo many of his games since diving is a yellow card so two deliberate dives in a game means you are out.

I guess if that rule was enforced then half of the star players wouldn't be worth picking so we wouldn't get to see their goals....

I think that the rugby players would win at rugby easily because noone on the US football team could keep playing for the whole game. They generally do have better runners and kickers and so on but they'd all get injured
The US footballers would win at American football easily because the rugby players don't have the same degree of specialisation

I think the rugby players would win in a fight because there's a lot more fighting in rugby :?

THe footballers would all get jazzed because it would mean (to them) they could actually kick somebody's A$$ and not get flagged for it.

The wife and I had a lovely time last night watching ManU's destruction at the hands of City.

The last Premier League match of ManU's that I happened to watch live was when Liverpool trounced them several years ago (Liverpool were in their ghastly silver kits, and I remember Gerrard and maybe even Torres scoring)…same half-empty Old Trafford at the end of that one, too.

Got up to watch it at 7:25 my time. What a beatdown! I think they call that last 10 minutes twisting the knife.

Anelka is coming to Shanghai, and apparently he's bringing his fighting 'bot with him, too.
