Hey it is good to know that someone else knows, and likes CurtinFM.  I hear songs that I have completely forgotten about, and what a trip down memory lane!!

Hey Bugalugs,  You say 'when we go to the city'.......this makes me presume you are from good old WA.  Where is home to you?  I am from Albany, and my sons live in Bunbury.

I am amazed.  My brother lives  just outside of Moora, and of course, Denmark is only a 30 minute drive from Albany.  Just looked at your blog, and I see you are way up in Inner Mongolia.  That must be interesting.  I envy you getting to Haerbin.  I am hopingto get there this winter but not sure of my chances yet.  I will keep on hoping.

D.O.A. . I grew up in southwest BC in the 80s and we had a pretty great punk scene at that time. I used to watch D.O.A. play in a guys basement for 5 bucks a show. One of the great hardcore punk bands of the 80s.

Last week I heard they are are coming to China. Talk about getting a care package from home. Dates in Beijing on Jan 11 and Jan 30. Since getting that news I'm listening to D.O.A. everyday and even set the ringtone on my phone as D.O.A.'s "Waiting For You".

It is not on my CD player, or MP3, but streaming live, from Curtin FM, a community station situated in suburban Perth.  Markets itself as playing 'the music you grew up with'.  For any 'oldies' it is great.  I love it, being in that category, I guess.

In parts of North America, they now run half hour and hour long infomercials on commercial radio stations. It used to be ads, but now it's actual programming on many Citadel and Clear Channel stations in the U. S. bibibibibi

I saw D. O. A. many times, the last of which was around 1993, I think. I won't be in town to see them in China, but it was a nice surprise to hear that they would be here.

Today I am listening to Screamin' Jay Hawkins. My kinda Xmas music... bzbzbzbzbz

Waits also does a great cover of Hawkins' "Whistling Past The Graveyard."

The worst version of a Hawkins song has to be Nina Simone doing "I Put a Spell On You." Good god that was an abomination!
