Thanks 'Noles! akakakakak

I moved the thread here so I could make it a sticky, and un-stickied the 2012 holiday thread...

Thanks for posting these, but I'm a little confused by the format- does the holiday begin on the first day you state? Except New Years on Dec 31.. and when does the Labor Day holiday begin?

I think the dates listed are the actual holiday, not necessarily the beginning of the days off. Given that, the Labor Day days off will start April 29... bjbjbjbjbj

This one has the start days as well as which weekdays to makeup on the weekend "working days".

Lots of Friday and Monday makeup days next year so bear that in mind if you have any control/influence over how your school schedules you.

Thanks Noles! Once again you come through with the goods.  bjbjbjbjbj

I'm always tempted to copy and paste your list and send it to the Chinese dean/xiaozhang/bigdoofus at whatever college/uin/sausage factory I'm working at with the introduction, "I've been discussing next year's holidays with my associates at the ministry in Beijing, and we've decided that these are the tentative dates to remember. These should be independently confirmed within a week. If no confirmation is forthcoming, call me and I'll take the matter up with the deputy minister" Wouldn't work this year, my college is actually pretty on the ball, but it might work for some of us.

Although I appreciate the format, the dates they list are different than the ones from the official government site: http://www.gov.cn/zwgk/2012-12/10/content_2286598.htm (translated into English on the Beijinger: http://www.thebeijinger.com/blog/2012/12/11/eight-days-week-china-releases-official-2013-holiday-dates)

Just looking at the New Years dates anyway- eChinacities says Dec 30-Jan 1, but the official website says Jan 1- Jan 3.

Awesome...and may I add I despise this make-up class shite...idiotic tomfoolery..rather short Spring Festival, compared to the monstrously long one this year.

Ugh I have far too many 8-day weeks this year.

At least I can take a trip on my birthday I guess

Make-up days are a pain in the whats-it and yes, we all get them. Plays merry heck with my lesson planning.

Does anyone know if the 30th is a working day or not? The government is saying that the Oct. holiday is the 1st-7th, with the 28th, 29th, and 8th being work days. But if that's the case we have an 9 day week from the 22nd to the 30th ...

Now I am really confused. I've just started this week and all of these holidays coming up.

No one here has mentioned them or included them in my roster....more to figure out for me I suppose. At least I have lots of spare time this semester so should be able to get those make up classes in somewhere.

Still quite baffled by this. Apparently Sat is a rest day and Sunday and Monday are work days here, then the holiday begins. After the holiday is done are there any more make-up days scheduled?  mmmmmmmmmm
