The Commonwealth Games 2018

The fun starts today as 71 teams participate in many sports in the Commonwealth Games. The Games are being held in Oz this year on The Gold Coast. There is too much info for me to pass on, but I suggest you look it up. Prince Charles and his wife are here in Brisbane today. Glad I'm not off to "the den" as they will be having a walk around close to the Casino today, so I expect lots of folk will turn up to see them. It is all happening from 4th to 15th April.

It is great to see so many athletes from all over the world. Bermuda would be so proud of Flora's accomplishments.

Australia has won the most medals so far, probably helped along by the fact that we are the host Country and therefore have more athletes competing.

I was wondering if anything is being shown on T.V. in China about the Games?

Is anyone overseas watching these games or reading about them? No one has yet answered my previous question. As at this morning, Oz has 57 gold, 43 bronze and 45 silver medals.

If I play in the games, do I get to become commonly wealthy?

The Games have finished and Australia won the most medals. Most of the visitors have left the Country, but one can only wonder about what has been left behind! I believe that the Nightclubs were doing a great business.

I mostly ignore sports.  I'll bet that CCTV5 (the sports channel) probably covered some of it.  The sports news on CGTN (formerly CCTV International, formerly CCTV9) probably also mentioned it.

That would be a huge step to leave your home Country and family and friends behind, particularly in these circumstances. I hope it all works out well for them.
The closing ceremony received a lot of criticism because the athletes were not a part of it. To try to fix this, Brisbane is holding a special street parade through the city, so I'll check the date and stay away from the City on that day.
