I listen to whatever Media Monkey throws up on Random.  It chooses from whatever I've thought to Limewire.  Need some better tunes...

I'm getting reacquainted with The Mountain Goats. I got a hankering to listen to them and realized it was one of the CDs I left at home. So I spent the day at the Worm downloading their new CD and some older tunes. Love them.

Those who are into Hank Williams might want to look for this film:

Sneezy Waters, who plays Hank, is an Ottawa\ musician. He did this as a live stage show for some time before it was turned into a movie. Friends saw it and said it was great.

"I'm going straight to hell, that's what my momma said, I'm going straight to hell"

For anybody who wants to hear this lyrical theme developed over a 30-year career, join me in my passion for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Pick of the album crop, I'd say: Henry's Dream, Let Love in, Murder Ballads and Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus. But it's all outstanding since Nick got the better of his heroin habit back in about 88. Prior to that, it's a little more hit and miss.

The only problem is that grungy goth-rock blues with shrieking bits about hell and murder etc. isn't to everybody's taste. Mrs Foscolo is very much not a fan.

A few years ago I had a nice littel laptop and was downloading music on a regular basis and taking it into classes on occaision. Worked in well until one day someone snuck into my ofice and stole the laptop. No more music in my classroom. Just recently I've purchased an impysan and have started to DL music and lyrics for school again.
1) I have a very eclectic taste in music, but gravitating towards the mainstream rock of the early 70s. I grew up with guitar heros.
2) I'm having a hard time getting stuff that I want. I have 'puter probs at home and haven't been able to get anything to work except Baidu, and that's pretty limited. So for me the Q isn't what do I have, but what don't I. And reading this thread, my list is getting longer every day! A few things that I'm specifically loing for ATM: Alan Price's music from the movie O Lucky Man, and Eric Idle's song from Life of Brian, Always Look On the Bright Side of Life. I've found a passable cover by Bruce Cockburn, but not a patch on the original.

I finally got the iPod someone gave me working today! axaxaxaxax axaxaxaxax axaxaxaxax
iTunes was not accessing my internet connection because my firewall was telling it not to. llllllllll But now with the help of the iTunes server and an interfaith team of ministers, priests, rabbis, and mullahs I have cleared the old software out of this Mac-formatted iPod and reset it to work with a computer. uuuuuuuuuu

God, this thing is wonderful. I've never really encountered an MP3-type player that had decent sound before now. It's quite a revelation. bfbfbfbfbf

"No Talking, Just Head" besides the fantastic title, this little gem of a record is truly wonderful..
recorded by the remaining members of "Talking Head" when David Byrne left. All the songs feature original band members and guest vocalists like Johnette Napolitano, Michael Hutchence, Debbie Harry..

strange and eclectic but sooo good.

do yourself a favor and check it out at the pirate bay

   1. "Damage I've Done" (Napolitano/Frantz/Harrison/Murray/Weymouth), with vocals by Johnette Napolitano – 6:19
