A weird lovecraftian horror-flick starring Sam Neill called "In the mouth of madness".
Oh, and the Tsui Hark 1980 classic Chinese vampire movie "Mr. Vampire". Hopping Chinese vampires crack me up agagagagag
"Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination." Oscar Wilde.

"It's all oojah cum spiffy". Bertie Wooster.
"The stars are God's daisy chain" Madeleine Bassett.

Tsui Hark didn't have anything to do with MR. VAMPIRE, but yeah: gotta love the jiang shr. In Taiwan you could watch dozens of those films on television during the month of the ghost festival.

I have never ordered from that company, so I would definitely appreciate a PM once your transaction is completed and if you recommend or don't recommend their service.

One of the many hats I carry on the show that I've been working on is researching films: who owns them, if they have a valid copyright (if they don't; and if they are in the public domain then we can screen them as a part of our show), where to find prints, etc., so It's par for the course in finding films for me, and I'm happy to share what I can with people who appreciate it.

Slight amendment...I can't order....they keep rejecting my c/card info.  (And it's not for lack of funds!)  Will have to tackle this later, with a clearer head.

I haven't used the serivices of ioffer, but they are offering it cheaper than the previous one - and you might be able to actually get your order through:

http://www.ioffer.com/i/GENGHIS-KHAN-1965-DVDR-OMAR-SHARIF-TELLY-SAVALAS-15279376

This is a DVD-R, so it's from a collector.

This is a VCD, and may possibly be of better quality than the DVD R (I assume this since the image used for the DVD-R is clearly the VCD cover)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230142176038&ih=013&category=617&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1

It appears that the VCD comes from a release in the Philippeans. The seller is located in the U. S. E-bay I have used for other items, and never been ripped off. The price is the cheapest to date, too.

BUGSY MALONE.

Factors:
It stars two of the top teen actors of 1970s America (Jody Foster & Scott Baio).
An entire cast of pre-teens and teens playing adults: mostly 20s era mobsters and molls.
Foot peddle cars.
Automatic weapons that shoot pies.
Said pies KILL.
Paul Williams' score.
Every male character lip synchs to Paul Williams, and thus SOUND like Paul Williams.
Epic in its costumes and intricate set design.
It's like COTTON CLUB meets JAMES AT 15.
So bad it's good.

The ORIGINAL Batman.  Black and white, has signs on the boat saying "Batboat" and when it gets hit, a flag pops up with POW on it.

Hysterical!

Batman Begins is the best Batman film by a mile.

Anyhow, a good obscure film:

Deja Mort

Saw this in Paris and loved it, but nobody I know has seen it.  It's a bit like Boogie Nights but more centred around drugs than porn.  Probably too accessible/american-style for those who love french cinema for its snob value.
It is too early to say.

I'm a huge fan of the TAXI films (but not that Queen Latifia piece-o-crap "remake"). Some other, recent,  French films that don't wallow in art house excess worth checking out: are Nid de gu

I really want to see #4. None of the original (superior) French TAXI films ever received any form of distribution in the United States. I picked up the first film on Hong Kong VCD in New York's Chinatown back in 1998. I picked up part 2 (and replaced the VCD of part 1 with the DVD) in Taiwan. I picked up the DVD for part 3 in South Korea. I'm waiting for a disc of part 4 with English subtitles.
