I forgot the details but I know that there is a "bigger" telescope project underway internationaly. It is not so much that they are building a big telescope but they are all going to co-ordinate and focus beams as it were to create the effect of a large super telescope for the purpose of picking up some data from a far off galaxy that is currently collapsing in on itself due to some freak accident spiraling black holes that will collide with each other ( previously thought impossible due to the laws of gravity). They hope the data will shed some light on whether or not gravity exists ( it is a disputed concept, the existence of these black holes is an argument against gravity) as well some data to dig further into the time mystery.
