Chinese Debit Card / Visa + Online Shopping

Hi guys,
  I've managed to get a CMB VISA Debit card, and it DOES work overseas, at least at an ATM, but I can't for the life of me seem to be able to do any online shopping.
I've gotten that enabled, I can buy locally on taobao and what not, but the internet based shopping sites in the west seem to not like my VISA.
Any ideas, suggestions, large bricks to throw at them and make them accept it?
