Weather Check

In Langmusi - brilliant, brilliant blue skies, dusting of snow over night.  Still in the minus range. 4 layers of clothes plus down coat.

In Xi'an - in the + range - but no beautiful blue sky, no lovely snow. 

It's not warm here by any stretch, but the edge is finally off the cold.
I can get off my bike and still feel my fingers now.

After a day of reasonably warm temps, I woke up to glorious, glorious snow again in Xi'an.  Been snowing fairly solidly for about 5 hours and the world is white again.

My forecast on firefox shows currently -4C but promises +7C with some clouds. We were promised snow yesterday but never got it. THANK GOD!

Dalian forcast is still for snow this morning - supposed to start around 10AM and end around 3 or 4PM.  When I spoke with my taxi driver Saturday, he also said we would have snow and/or freezing rain on Monday. The Chinese weather stations are also predicting this so it will probably happen. I don't have to go out today, so I won't!

I lied sorta.  When I wrote that, it was true.  Howsomever, I got phoned asking if I would like to  go out for supper at my favourite BBQ,. It is only a 5 min walk from my place so I went.  However, the bad weather had stopped.  I didn't even need gloves. 

Flakes the size of doilies!  Fun, fun, fun!

I'm depressed. Barring anything wildly unforeseen, it looks like the snow may have gone. Forecast temps are all well above minus - from 4-17 in the next week.

Just one (or two) more snows PLEASE!

Central heating goes off in 2 weeks.

I'll have to wait until next summer now to see more snow.

 After a long, cold, bitter winter, things are warming up fast in Beijing. 15 degrees yesterday, a big jump considering last month going outside was some kind of torture. Not likely to get below zero for another nine months. 

Too hot for a toque: Spring is nigh! 

Apart from not snowing, for the last 2 days the weather has been perfect in Xi'an. Clear blue (as Xi'an gets) skies, crisp air, not too cold, but tingling. 

Out of country but worth a mention

4.11m of snow has fallen since winter began in Ottawa and surrounding area with more snow on the way this week.  By the time the thaw comes, it is likely that the record of 4.58m set in the early 70s will be surpassed.

19 degrees in Xi'an - winter seems to have disappeared. Nothing near minus. No snow.
