I'll cry if "irregardless" ever officially becomes a word.

In a similar vein I get my hackles tangled when I hear, "I could care less."

Don't worry, same difference. Noone will notice soitdoesntmatter

It's all a conspiracy to make life for EFL teachers in China difficult. Try to explain why we - park in driveways and drive on parkways.
The Koreans once gave me five minutes notice - I didn't know what to do with the extra time.

It's the same reasoning for needing letters to write words to write letters.

That's a particular quirk of the English language that's designed to help keep pyromaniacs entertained.

In a similar vein I get my hackles tangled when I hear, "I could care less."

I tried caring less.  Although it took great effort, I finally succeeded.  Therefor, indeed it was true that I could care less.

Adding "noone"  would be new and improved

Lemma: If it's new, what is it improving on? If it's improved, it's no longer new

In the crime thriller "Blood Work" the serial killer keeps leaving the same clue; "0,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9".  A seemingly random character/friend of the investigator has the name "Buddy Noone" (pronounced noon).  But, of course, therein lies the obvious clue as to who the killer really is.
