Maybe this post should be in Teachers' Tips but because the site deals with issues wider than how to avoid writing lesson plans I have put it here.
Most of the time I feel ignorant - sometimes, like I did today,I feel pig ignorant.I came across a site with China references that I had not seen before. It is The Diplomat:
http://the-diplomat.com/Most probably every Foreign Teacher in China has been reading it every day and are now going,
'Jeez ... he's ignorant.'
Anyway, among a myriad of subjects on Asia there is a section on China - you have to look under THE DIPLOMAT BLOGS and select China Power, or go here:
http://the-diplomat.com/china-power/One of the contributors, Jiang Xueqin, has started writing on issues he has with the education system in China - articles include,'Head Teacher as Commissar' and 'Education: Thinking Process'.
Although he says pretty much what we say he manages to do it without saying f@*&! and he has a few insights to the system that help explain things we go WTF about.
A rider to it is that there is an element of self-promotion, mutual admiration and sucking up to the boss in the articles . . . but I am not in a position to start throwing stones.
