Happy 4th of July Meiguorens!

I was in Dublin city center this afternoon, and two American tourists walked past me, a couple, wearing stars and stripes from head to toe.

I thought fair play, there's not that many countries whose national day is so famous that when you see a person draped in a flag you think "oh it must be 4th of July"

I'm very disappointed that I can't see the fireworks from Jersey City. Macy's keeps moving the site around the river. But next year it'll be back at the Statue of Liberty, so it'll be easy to watch from here.

Honestly, after a year in China (in a city that allows fireworks any and all times) if I never see another firework again (or more importantly hear another firework) I'd be happy!
