We often have a lot of photos from people going on holiday and they are great but I'm also interested in the mundane everyday life we all have here.
Yesterday I took my camera with me as I had a typical day for me in the summer.
My summer school classes are not far from my house. I cut through Xu Teli (a teacher of Mao Zedong) Park on my way.

I usually leave early because it's too hot to hurry but that gives me a chance to notice what's around me.

I see this guy most days. I've never seen him sweat. Actually I've never seen him do anything remotely resembling work either.

... But the park is kept pretty well anyway.

Workers are out just after dawn. They really can't do much in the afternoon heat.
As I get to the school, I run into colleagues.

Junior middle school students stuck in summer school hell.

Lunch today is 青椒口味鸭 (duck with green cayenne peppers)
In the afternoon after work it's too hot for anyone to do anything outside, even play.
These stairs are formidable in the heat.
There are some nice views from the top though.

Late dinners are common as we wait for the temperature to come down. It's about 8:30 and the temperature is back down to a reasonable 38ºC so people will be out and about again.

Time for some 烧烤 (bbq)
... And ice cold beer.

It's a school night so back home early.

agagagagag Thanks for giving us a glimpse of your day(s) agagagagag

agagagagag agagagagag agagagagag You should post pics more often, Stilly!

I like the look of that lunch!
And the ShaoKao looks way better (and cleaner) than what you'd get in Ningbo agagagagag agagagagag
-
That park looks lush. Empty and clean, haven't seen that ever here

Hunan food is always good.

It's a small park sitting between two schools that are completely shut down for summer holidays. It's was also 8:30am when I took those and 35ºC already and I live in the 'burbs about a 45 minute drive from downtown.
By the start of the semester it will be full again...... and there will be garbage everywhere.

True Dat.
Never been to Hunan and yet it's my favourite Chinese cuisine. bfbfbfbfbf

Thanks Stil! great photos. bfbfbfbfbf They are as close as I will get to China now, so I really appreciate your efforts.

It certainly is swell that the temp gets down to a reasonable 38 degrees in the evening. My favorite picture is the guy who never sweats. Now there is a smart guy!

I really enjoyed your photo essay. Thanks for sharing. bjbjbjbjbj

Well said! I think "mundane everyday life" in China is exactly what a lot of people come here to see. bjbjbjbjbj

I would like others to post images in this thread.
Take a couple of photos as you go about your day and put them up here in sequence. Use your mobile phone, whatever. Beauty is not necessarily part of it. The garbage, the crowds we pass on a daily basis. We can see how our daily routines differ... or not. We can see the different areas/foods/classes etc. Work day, off day, weekend, shopping... anything. It may seem like a boring common day to you but that's the point. Your common day is not what other people, especially back home, experience.
Not only would this be interesting for me (and many of you, I hope) but it can be a great resource for those thinking about coming to China. A lot of people I meet, think that Shanghai has a lot of big buildings and the rest of China is like Guilin.

Clever to park the bikes where someone can watch over them.

Get yerself to Photobucket. It's free and really simple to use. Even I can manage it.
photobucket.com (http://photobucket.com)
Get an account there, upload your pics, manage your albums and simply copy the appropriate IMG url to your posts here.
I am pretty sure no virus
Yep, it still comes up as a malicious website!

Awesome photos, was that your school lunch?
The canteen food here is really rather awful!

To the OP, I have been in China now for 8 years, and I have never had a mundane day.
I enjoy your pics though, and those of other posters. My wife has my camera and is O/s at the moment, so I only have my laptop to take pics which is difficult to do, but I will try and post some pics.

What a boring answer. It's just the kind of thing I get every day in China. ...sigh.
-
Oh dear, Stil. Sorry to bore you!
I won't bother then.......plenty of other boring things to do..... jjjjjjjjjj jjjjjjjjjj

Naw, Drunk posting and joking. The only time I get bored in China is when I go to bars.
