Title: Recommend an internal laptop hard drive?
Post by: El Macho on March 18, 2011, 11:21:12 PM
Can anyone recommend a laptop hd? I have no idea who is currently producing the most reliable drives. I'd like to buy a 7200 RPM driveā€¦have to wait another couple of years to get an SSD, I'm afraid.

Also, any suggestions of reputable online merchants in China would be appreciated.

Why not just plug an external HDD into a USB port? Much less hassle. (PS - I'm not really an expert. I just hate to see a new topic get zero replies.)

you can get a 500gb WD (western digital) SATA laptop drive for 300rmbish.

If its to replace an existing one then no problem, if its to add a second one into an existing bay, then you may have difficulty sourcing the required ribbon cable.
