Weather Check

It was quite a warm day in Beijing. This weather is crazy. Uff.

Today isn't raining but it is still overcast and cool in Xi'an. A high of 15. Forecast of overcast and rainy for the rest of the week.  Time to get out the winter clothes.

When do they turn the heat on??  Middle of October or end of October or ...  I just dug out my space heater as the air conditioner's don't keep me warm enough and I can't wear more clothes.

Depends on where you live.  The further north the earlier is the permitted date.  Below the Yangtze - doesn't happen! Usually around the 15th here.

I'm in Dalian so maybe soon.  I have heard gurgling in the pipes over the last couple of days so maybe they are getting the water ready to run.

I was told it's usually November 1st on this side of the Bohai Sea, although there have been times when it's earlier.  I'm sure hoping it's the latter.

Weather is just about perfect. Not too warm, not too cold. Not too wet, not too dry.

After having carefully swapped my summer and winter wardrobe over and packed away all of my lightweight clothes, I have been told I have to skip down to Yangzhou next Wed for a couple of days.  What's the weather like there - what clothes should I bring??

The mountains were astonishingly - achingly - beautiful an  unforgettable experience. Make Guilin look like a tourist spot, seriously.

Poor, poverty stricken and sad. The kids have no real hope. It will take another generation before they get into the 20th, let alone the 21st.

Brought tears to my eyes, and everyone knows I am a hard assed bastard.

I will never forget that place, never.
