Travel advice - India
« on: March 13, 2009, 02:49:48 PM »
I know this is WAY off topic, but I wanted the advice of so many experienced travellers.  I've just been told that I'm heading to India for work and I'm going to take a week for myself after the job there is over.  I'll be Mumbai but travelling home through Delhi.

Any "must see" sites in such a short time...besides the Taj Mahal?

Gudi Padva festival is held March/April depending on the Hindu calendar - might be worth checking out to see if you are there at the right time.

The classic itinerary for the short-term tourist in India is Delhi-Agra-Jaipur.

It's quite interesting, as Jaipur is quite a cool place in itself.

If you can possibly do it, though, try to head out to one of the better places in Rajasthan province, like the lush Pushkar

It is too early to say.
