Downloading movies from Tudou,etc
« on: December 14, 2012, 09:19:22 PM »
If I want to d/l a movie with Chinese subs how can I go about it? I tried using the wonderful addon I have on Mozilla which works for my regular sites, but in Tudou it just d/l the annoying ad at the beginning but not the actual movie. IT also wanted me to d/l and install some thing called Itudou or some such and I was not sure what that was or how to use it. HELP!

download assistant for Firefox works, but you have to pick the one that isn't the ad, but is the right movie.

Pain in the ass since it's numbers and you have to guess blind, but I just try to download all the ones listed and delete the short ones later.

Take note of the last few digits so when you check, if you got the wrong one, you can try a different set of numbers. The numbers remain the same for each vid.

To reduce confusion I usually only open one at a time, whereas other sites can open the lot and download as many as I like simultaneously.

I just installed Firefox and tried to download from Tudou. Also got the iTudou message. Could someone please guide me through to find this blessed download assistant and how to use it? Please?

If you have installed the same one I use, in the upper left hand corner of firefox, this little gear thingie sort of icon lights up when a movie can be downloaded. if you click on the little down arrow that appears next to it, a list of the movies you can download will appear. select the one you think you want (they are just a list of numbers etc so it can be hard to tell, so just take note etc and get the right one.)

Then follow the popups or whatever saving it where you want. That's all.

If you go to the place you downloaded the download assistant from, I seem to remember that it has detailed instructions.

the way i used to do this when I needed a video for class was go to

www.flvcd.com

post the url in the box

right click save as

download movie in about 4 minutes.

It only works well with tudou; youku and other sites get their videos chopped up into several small segments.
