Toastie...  noun?  Definition?

I thought it was an adjective ... nice and warm in comparison to the cold weather outdoors as in "It feels toasty in here by the fireplace with our hot toddies."

Oh, man.  A toastie.  Alas and alack, I lack all three of decent bread, a toastie maker, and cheese.

I remember when I, and the group of people I was teaching/travelling with, arrived in India.  We were escorted to a school in Delhi where we stayed for 2 nights before heading up to Hardwar.  The Delhi school pummelled us with cheese toasties, which we found odd.  I think they gave us about 80 of them each.  Some people actually *complained* about this! Two months later we would all have given anything for death by toastie...

4.35 am. Everything is blurry. Birthday parties, as great as they are, are a disaster!!!

Got me a HOLIDAY today......24 May is the Queen's (Victoria!!) Birthday....lately renamed Bermuda Day or Heritage Day.....the first official (Bermuda) day of Summer...when it's OK to go in the water for the first time of this Year!!......Picnics, parties and our very own Marathon!!...and NO WORK!!!  YAY!!!

Can't find the - I was really stupid thread.

I was in a hurry today.  My school is at the top of a steep hill.  I was teaching a another building part-way up the hill.  I had 20 min to get to the school, get online, download 2 documents I e-mailed myself and get them upstairs to the copy room.  Mid-term tests for tomorrow morning so important.

I can walk fast when necessary.  Of course the stupid docs wouldn't download into word.  Wanted to open in Chinese.    Ran up the stairs to the copy room.  Got online on their computer with the tech there.  He finally got it to open.  Walked back down the hill and stopped at the little grocery store.  I am too OLD to run up the hill.  I was very dizzy once the adrenaline stopped coursing through my veins.  DUMB DUMB DUMB. 

Supposed to go to a festival (Dean invited us)  Couldn't muster the energy to sit through 3 hours of student performances.  I also have a ton of marking to do before tomorrow.  Of course we weren't invited till this afternoon.  I actually wanted to go but ..... I am too old (and fat) to run up the hill.

I think if I drink I will really really be sorry.  How's about a rain check till tomorrow afternoon.  Don't teach tomorrow afternoon - just have to mark 50 mid-terms.  I have to teach 6 hours on Sat though.  Darn I am a glutton for punishment.  This is really cutting into my drinking schedule.  (I am a 1 beer drunk, so not much of a schedule )

 

Rain check it is..... I'll ask the Keep to have it ready for you when you arrive tomorrow. Have fun with those Mid terms.

Sympathies, DS.  This was a prime example of what my grandmothar would have called "More Haste, Less Speed". 

The ONLY time I ever run...is for a child in mortal danger!!...and (thankfully) there aren't too many of those to cause me to move in a rapidly expeditious manner.
