Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart's Sam With The Showing-Scalp Flat-Top ("particular about the POINT it made...") from the Bongo Fury album.

Been in Zappa mode a lot lately.
Sometimes when I listen to Zappa's music, I start wondering why I should ever bother listening to anything else...there's just no "up" to go to from here. bfbfbfbfbf

Most of the time, I listen to KPIG, but whenever I have had quite enough, I switch over to Radio Paradise.

KPIG you gotta pay for (worth every penny) but Radio Paradise is free free free.

"Marriage of Figaro"

I'm slowly working my way through the 45 CD "Complete Mozart" collection, but at this point think I probably could listen to Marriage of Figaro for the rest of my life and be quite happy.

I'm in love with Duffy.  She is the reincarnation of Motown: she belongs in the same sentence as Amy Winehouse.

And a friend posted the video for "Six Underground" by The Sneaker Pimps at took me back... this is the sexiest song in human history.

Oooh now I see what a quality bunch I have stumbled upon- Dr John and Frank Zappa!
Mr Duke you have gone up 10 points in my book now for that. I am in a big Zappa phase myself principally Weasels ripped my flesh but actually all of them since my son acquired all the albums I am listening to them in my car.

Well I have to be honest. I'd never heard of Shostakovitch until I watched "Reilly, Ace of Spies", an English TV (BBC??) production about 15-20 years ago, and that was the theme tune.
I've got about half the stuff you're listening to. We both must be real old, man!

Joe Jackson's thoroughly excellent Night and Day  album, especially the bittersweet and hauntingly beautiful Breaking Us In Two.

Came out in 1982. Just keeps getting better. akakakakak

I'm listening to Zhou Yun Peng 周云蓬 and Wan Xiao Li 万晓利 tonight, two excellent Chinese musicians. Zhou Yun Peng is kinda folksy/bluesy and Wan Xiao Li is like indy folk rock or something. Look them up on your kugou or whatever it is you use if you'r sick of the same old Chinese music.  bfbfbfbfbf
