Yeah, good way to do some targeted vocabulary learning, and to understand where English is coming from.

Perfect timing!  I was just about to look for something of the sort, as my students have shown a huge interest in learning more about roots.... TEM4 and all.

That figures. One of my favourite books was an Etymology of English that traced down 5000 words with some interesting stories. And it included ^%$# and  asasasasas. I gave it to my student as a going away present. Its amazing how not only the origin is so unexpected, but the gradual changes in words alters too. The book also gave related words that the sample word evoked.

It was the coolest reference book I ever had. Gotta buy me another when I get back home.
