2010 Harbin Ice & Snow Festival
« on: January 31, 2010, 05:41:32 PM »
I was lucky enough to be invited to the official opening of the 11th Ice & Snow Festival on January 5th and had a wonderful evening walking around, this year´s display was awesome and there were non-stop fireworks for the 2 hours we were there.

Visiting the Ice World is possibly the coldest activity yet known to man, but it is still an event not to be missed for anyone who - through good fortune or bad - finds themselves in Harbin with 200 kuai in their pocket and doesn´t know what to do with it.

These are just a selection of 200-odd pictures I took. The rest are on my picasa page, for anyone who is interested.
You have to care for it to matter.

Like Dragonsaver I can't see the pictures. I can see most other pictures posted in the saloon. Is there something I need to do so I can see these pictures?

I can see them if my VPN is on. If not, no pics. Ergo, the website the OP is hosting the pictures is on is being blocked by the GFW.

old34.  That makes sense because I cannot cannot see them and I cannot use a VPN (or any of the ways around it) on the University network.  When some people could see them and some could not it did look like something to do with the GFW.
